Woman and children escape from Drogheda home following suspected arson attack

No injuries were reported.

Gardaí investigating a suspected arson incident in Louth on Monday night have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Around 9.40pm, Gardaí and emergency services, including three Fire Brigade units, were called to the scene of a fire at a house in Laurence’s Park in Drogheda.

A 30-year-old woman and her three young children were removed from the house.

They were assessed by ambulance personnel at the scene and did not require hospital treatment.

The fire was brought under control but significant damage was caused to the house.

Gardaí have said an investigation into all of the circumstances of the fire has commenced and the scene has been preserved for forensic examination.

No arrests have been made and enquires ongoing.
