A woman has died after being struck by the Luas in Dublin

Very sad news.

A woman has died after being struck by the Luas in Dublin on Thursday.

Gardaí in Tallaght are investigating the fatal road traffic collision involving a tram and a pedestrian between the Cookstown and Tallaght Hospital Luas stops on Thursday morning around 10am.

A female pedestrian was fatally injured when she was struck by the Luas. Her body remains at the scene.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact Tallaght Garda Station on 01 6666000, the Garda Confidential telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.

Red Line services are suspended between Red Cow-Tallaght and Saggart following the incident.

A replacement bus service is in place between Saggart and Red Cow, and is operating every 20 minutes.
