A woman in US has been charged with second-degree manslaughter after shooting her boyfriend in a Youtube stunt that went wrong.
Pedro Ruiz, 22, died after being shot in the chest by his partner Monalisa Perez, 19, while filming a video .
Ruiz had been holding up a hardback encyclopaedia to protect himself from the bullet, reports Euronews.
Perez told authorities that she was holding the gun 30cm away from Ruiz when she shot it at him.
She hinted about the dangerous stunt on social media before filming on Monday.

The shooting was witnessed by about 30 people – a number of neighbours and the couple’s three-year-old daughter had gathered to watch.
“I wish they wouldn’t have done it. I wish he would’ve just done another prank,” Claudia Ruiz, the victim’s aunt, told WDAY-TV.
“They were in love. It was just a prank gone wrong. It shouldn’t have happened like this. It shouldn’t have happened at all.”

Perez, who is pregnant with the couple’s second child, was released from custody after paying $7,000 in bail.
