Yep, this happened…
A member of the audience on BBC’s Question Time claimed that she voted in favour of Brexit after seeing straight banana in a shop.
The panel was discussing the state of affairs in the run up to triggering Article 50, when she made the truly bizarre revelation.
“I was voting remain, and at the very last minute I changed my decision and I went to leave,” she said.
“And the reason is, because I go to a supermarket, and a banana is straight. I’m just sick of the silly rules that come out of Europe.”
Host David Dimbleby then asked: “Have the bananas changed?”
She replied: “If you go to Aldi they’re a bit bent.”
