Extremely popular with tourists. We hope they’re back on their feet soon.

The Dead Rabbit Grocery and Grog announced that it has indefinitely shut down because of a fire.

As reported by The New York Post, the blaze broke out at the cocktail bar at 30 Waters St. at 7:30 a.m., and 106 firefighters responded.

The pub released the following statement via their official page: “Due to extensive fire and water damage, The Dead Rabbit will be closed until further notice. Fortunately no one has been hurt. Thank you for you support and understanding at this difficult time.”

The Irish owners have also expressed their thanks for al the messages of support that they received.

“Many, many thanks to everyone all over the word who has sent us messages of support. It’s truly appreciated. Things are difficult for us now, and there will no doubt be more difficulties ahead. But we’ll be back. After all, The Dead Rabbit was born in a hurricane,” they said.

It was not immediately clear what caused the fire.

As stated previously, the bar has been voted the world’s best – a great source of pride for its Irish co-founders and managing partners Sean Muldoon and Jack McGarry when they spoke to JOE.

The award-winning pub and cocktail bar opened in 2013 and topped “The World’s 50 Best Bars” list in 2016. Since then, it has continued to be one of New York’s most popular establishments with locals and tourists alike.

Having visited The Dead Rabbit and seen/tasted their superb work, we’re certain that they’ll be up and running soon.

All the best to their owners and staff in the immediate future.

Here’s hoping that they’re back and better than ever.
