Icelandic airline WOW Air has announced details of a new route from Dublin to John F. Kennedy Airport in New York, via Reykjavik, beginning in April of next year.

WOW air already provides services to Newark from Ireland and from April 26 next year, it will also service the biggest airport in the Big Apple, with flights departing from Dublin Airport seven days a week.

A special price of €129.99 for a one-way fare will be available on selected flights from Dublin Airport to JFK for travel between April-June 2018 and September-October 2018.

WOW air also announced it will increase the number of weekly flights on its Dublin—New York Newark route to 13 from May 29, 2018.

WOW air already flies from Dublin to ten destinations in North America – New York (Newark), Boston, Washington D.C., Montréal, Toronto, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Pittsburgh and Chicago – and earlier this year, announced five new routes from Ireland to Detroit, Cleveland, Cincinnati, St Louis and Dallas, all commencing in 2018.

Announcing the new route, Skúli Mogensen, founder and CEO of WOW air, said: “Since launching our Newark route last year, we’ve seen increasing demand from our Irish passengers looking for more ways to travel to the East Coast. Our new route to JFK does just that.”

“JFK joins our growing network of North American destinations and will give Irish passengers a new, convenient way to explore the sights and sounds of the Big Apple at an affordable cost.”
