Get out the good jacket again.
Overall, it was a very mild Christmas with temperatures higher than we’d usually expect for this time of year… especially considering the snow we got in 2018.
While we can expect temperatures of between 10 and 12 degrees for the rest of Sunday, later in the week we can expect temperatures to drop significantly.
There will be little change at the start of the week with mostly dry and mild conditions, but will become more cold and unsettled from midweek onwards.
Monday will start out dry but rain and drizzle will sweep across the country in the afternoon with temperatures of between seven and 10 degrees.
On to Tuesday which will be mostly dry with some sunny spells, but overall rather cloudy. There will also be a risk of mist and drizzle along Atlantic coasts with temperatures of between eight and 11 degrees.
Wednesday will start off wet with rain gradually spreading eastwards across the country during the morning, but this may clear in the afternoon to give way to sunny spells with some scattered showers. Temperatures will be between six and nine degrees but will take a noticeable dip over night dropping to between minus two and two degrees in some areas.
Maximum temperatures on Thursday will between four and seven degrees and overnight it will be cold with a risk of sharp frost and temperatures of minus three degrees.
As we head towards Friday and the weekend, early indications predict with will be cold and unsettled.
