Wrap up warm tonight, as Met Éireann predicts temperatures to drop to -2

It’ll be significantly warmer for the rest of the week, however.

Yep.

Jumpers out. Gloves on. Hot water bottles to the ready.

Tonight is going to bring “widespread frost” and temperatures dipping to as low as -2 in places, according to Met Éireann.

However, the rest of the week looks like it will be noticeably warmer.

Tuesday will start off cold (obviously), but will pick up and that night won’t be any colder than about 3 degrees.

Wednesday will bring some patchy rain, but temperatures will get as high as 11 degrees that day, before dropping to between 1 and 4 degrees that night.

Thursday will bring more rain, especially for the north and west of the country, but it will be even warmer again, getting as high as 13 degrees during the day and likely not going below 7 degrees that night.

And heading into Friday and the weekend, temperatures are expected to mostly stay away from being too cold, but the rain and wind will increase, especially on Sunday.

But before then, yes, tonight will be a “keep your socks on in bed” kind of night.
