Wrap up warm, we’ve got a cold weekend ahead of us

Rory Cashin

Weather this week

Brrr.

That’s your weekend forecast in a word. Met Eireann are forecasting a pretty chilly weekend ahead, before temperatures begin to rise to the low to mid teens from Monday onwards.

But before we can bathe in that relative warmth, we’ll have to endure temperatures tonight as low as -3 degrees with severe frost expected across the country.

Saturday is only slightly better, with frost and ice warnings in the morning, before temperatures rise to a balmy 4 degrees, but scattered wintry showers will be arriving to ruin your night out.

Sunday will be more or less the same, with more frost warnings in place for that night.

In short, maybe don’t bother going outside this weekend. There’s got to be something on Netflix you haven’t binged on yet, right?
