Wright Venue

End of an era.

The Wright Venue in Swords, Dublin is set to close from 14 January.

Since opening 10 years ago, the venue has been a popular location for those living on Dublin’s northside.  Aside from being a notable haunt for clubbers, the venue has also been a popular location for artists to play in with Ellie Goulding, Craig David, 50 Cent and Rihanna all frequenting the venue.

In a letter to staff dated 3 January, management said: “We are committed to mitigating this risk and would like to offer alternative employment to as many venue staff as possible”

It added that the owners are “committed to doing everything possible to identify suitable alternative opportunities for staff.”

Workers are being asked to send their CV to management and detail their skills and experience.

Sadly, in terms of nightclub closures, the news isn’t isolated because Lillie’s Bordello is set to close on 19 January while Club 92 in Leopardstown has also closed its doors.
