An XL Bully killed one family's pet on their child's communion day.

A family in Enniscorthy were left heartbroken when their 9-year-old Bichon Frisé 'Lucky' was mauled by an XL Bully dog while out for a walk.⁠

The family's 70-year-old grandmother was taking Lucky for a walk when the incident happened.⁠
⁠
The family had friends and relatives in the house for their son's communion when Lucky was attacked; two children witnessed the event.⁠

In a statement to JOE, Gardaí said that they 'responded to reports of a dog attacking another dog on the evening of the May 18 in Enniscorthy'.

"No persons were injured.

"Investigations are ongoing," they added.
