Young boy (10) dies following road collision in Carlow

Desperately sad news.

A 10-year-old boy involved in a road collision in Carlow on Thursday has passed away from his injuries at Temple Street Hospital in Dublin.

The boy was involved in a collision with a jeep while cycling in the Ballymartin area of Borris in Carlow on Thursday (25 June).

The incident occurred at approximately 1.30pm and the boy was airlifted from the scene to Temple Street Hospital. His death was sadly confirmed by Gardaí on Friday morning.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to this collision to come forward, particularly any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area at the time, to make this footage available to Gardaí.
