cash in transit robbery

Heartbreaking news…

The two people who died in a car crash in Bundoran in the early hours of Sunday morning have been named locally as Shiva Devine and Conall McAleer.

It’s understood that Devine is originally from Donegal, but had been living in the Fermanagh town of Beleek.

According to the Irish Independent, she is a former student of Coláiste Cholmcille in Ballyshannon, and the mother of a three-year-old boy.

Meanwhile, McAleer attended South West College in Enniskillen and is from Ederney in Fermanagh.

The Peugeot 306 in which they were travelling struck a wall close to 3.25am on Sunday morning.

Three other occupants of the car were also injured. One young woman in her 20s was admitted to hospital in a critical condition, while the condition of two young men in their mid-20s was described as serious.

The woman has since been transferred to Beaumont Hospital while the two men remain in Sligo General Hospital.

A sixth occupant of the car, a man in his 20s, presented himself at Ballyshannon Garda Station several hours after the crash.

He was arrested and questioned and then released without charge last night. A file is being prepared for the Director of Prosecutions.
