WATCH: Volodymyr Zelensky reveals he has only seen his family once since Russian invasion

“Work and sleep, that’s it.”

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he has only seen his family once since Russian military forces invaded the country last week.

Zelensky previously revealed that his wife Olena and his two children, who are aged 17 and nine, are in hiding in Ukraine amid fears of assassination.

This was before the country’s authorities said on Tuesday that an assassination plot against Zelensky has been foiled.

Amid the ongoing chaos since Russia’s invasion of its neighbour, the Ukrainian leader has continued to release videos assuring the population that he is still in the country with no plans on leaving.

Speaking to reporters, the President said that his life currently consists of just “work and sleep” and that he cannot see his family.

Asked when the last time he saw them was, Zelensky responded:

“Before this war,” but then corrected himself by adding:

“Not before this war, no, three days ago, in the middle of this war.”

Also during the interview, Zelensky received a report that a Russian missile had just struck a TV tower by the Babyn Yar Holocaust memorial site in Kyiv.

“That is Russia, my congratulations,” he told journalists as he concluded the interview.
