Quite a worrying statistic.

Earlier on Tuesday, we shared a survey that was carried out by the Institute for Conflict Research (via BBC News) that highlighted what worries were keeping the people of Ireland up at night.

The survey found that the biggest issue that was on Irish people’s minds was the housing crisis in Ireland.

It found that 88% of people in the Republic are concerned about the lack of affordable housing in the country.

As damning a statistic as this is, it may not even be the most concerning that emerged from the survey.

It also found that only 1% of respondents in the Republic of Ireland had complete trust in Dáil Éireann.

Things were not much better up North, as a mere 2% of respondents in Northern Ireland said they have complete trust in the Northern Ireland Assembly.

Brexit also remains at the forefront of people’s minds, as 52% of respondents in the Republic and 55% in Northern Ireland concerned to a “great extent” or to “some extent”.
