People in the UK try to draw border between Ireland and Northern Ireland and fail pretty miserably

One attempt was way off target.

“Yeah the southern Irish have to lump it basically, you can’t always have what you want in life.”

The issue of the border between Ireland and Northern Ireland has assumed critical importance ahead of Brexit negotiations next month.

Ireland’s position on the need to avoid a hard border has been clear for some time – a stance supported by our fellow EU members – but the apparent lack of clarity over the UK government’s position on the border and the customs union has led to plenty of debate ahead of next month’s EU summit.

With the issue at the forefront of minds here and in the UK of late, Channel 4 News took to the streets to find out what the people thought of the issue.

They also sought to see if the same people were able to draw a line on a blank map of the island of Ireland to show where the border between north and south lies.

As you’ll see below, opinions on the matter varied wildly and as for the drawing of the border line, well, in some cases, it left more than a little to be desired.
