WATCH: Donald Trump drags Nickelback into his latest Twitter attack

And now we feel bad for Nickelback. Are you happy now?

(deep breath)

Where to start with this one?

So, on Wednesday evening (his time), Donald Trump tweeted out a severely dank meme.

It starts with Joe Biden being asked by a journalist: "Have you ever spoken to your son about his oversees business dealings?", to which Biden answers: "I have never spoken to my son about his oversees business dealings."

The footage then cuts to Nickelback's music video for their hit single 'Photograph', and we see Chad Kroeger holding up a photograph.

In the original music video, it is of him and Nickelback producer Joey Moi, but in Trump's tweet, it has been changed to Joe Biden and his son Hunter, golfing in the Hamptons with two other men, one of whom is referred to as 'Ukraine Gas Exec'.

Then some love hearts appear around them, just as Kroeger yell-sings: "And what the hell is on Joey's head?"

UPDATE: it looks like Nickelback may have imposed a copyright response to Trump's use of the video.

So. Okay. A lot to process there.

It didn't take long for people to figure out that the 'Ukraine Gas Exec' was Devon Archer, who did indeed serve on the board of the Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma Holdings, along with Hunter Biden.

What the photograph obviously can't tell us is that Devon and Hunter had already been business partners for a few years prior to this golfing trip, and this photograph was reportedly taken in 2014, years before either of them were involved in the Ukraine company.

Of course, Trump is currently in the midst of a Ukraine-based issue of his own, since a whistleblower alleged that the US President had pressured the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, to open an investigation into Joe Biden and his son in order to scupper Biden's presidential campaign.

It has been alleged that Trump went as far as to threaten to withhold military aid from Ukraine unless officials there investigated the former vice-president.

However, quite how anyone thought it was a good idea to drag Nickelback into any of this is beyond us. At the time of writing, Chad Kroeger and company have yet to respond to the tweet.

No doubt they're still settling in down in Brazil...

Trump, meanwhile, has moved on, retweeting the following video and continuing his 2020 Presidential Campaign like he's releasing a trailer for a new action thriller:
