Open wide for some soccer… players who bear some sort of resemblance (however vague) to the characters of probably the best TV show ever made.
If, like us, your attention is piqued by the mere mention of anything football or Simpsons-related, you may have come across a photo of Chelsea players standing alongside Simpson-ised versions of themselves ahead of a special World Cup themed episode that will air next month.
While it should be pointed out that The Simpsons artists have done a pretty good job of capturing the likeness of Terry, Lampard, Hazard et al, it got us thinking of footballers who could appear in the show in place of the existing characters with probably a lot of people barely anyone noticing the difference.
Some Simpsons/footballing lookalikes, such as Sideshow Bob and David Luiz and Moe Szyslak and David Moyes, are well known to most football fans already but having discussed the matter long and hard, we came up with a few more suggestions for the amusement of our readers and indeed, ourselves. Mostly ourselves, if we’re honest.
