Dublin man “apologises” for missing match in the most McGregor way possible

JOE

That’s the way to do it.

A Leinster Senior League team’s Whatsapp group chat has seen a contender for the best bit of McGregor-related banter of the year this morning. You would be doing well to beat this.

The team had a match this morning and only managed to scrape together 12 players, which resulted in a 4-1 loss. Perhaps the lack of numbers was due to a certain sporting event that took place last night, but who knows.

After an angry message from the gaffer, a number of players apologised for being unable to turn up for the match. But one player saw his chance for a world class comeback, and he took it. Quoting McGregor’s post-fight interview from last night, this young man has really thought on his feet here.

As you can see, the joke wasn’t too well received as he was kicked from the group chat immediately. I’m sure he’d say it was definitely worth it…
