Fernando Torres has revealed exactly why he’s returning to Atletico Madrid

Fernando Torres explained in a press conference why he had to leave Milan.

It was announced this morning that Fernando Torres would return to his old club, his alma mater if you will, Atletico Madrid, on an 18 month loan deal from AC Milan. He gave a press conference in Dubai today explaining his reasons. When asked about his reasons for joining Milan in the first place, he said “The transfer to Milan was a new challenge for me. They showed me that they needed me, that they wanted to use me as a key player." However, things did not quite work out as planned for Torres who went on to say “But after a few months the situation changed. The Coach decided to make use of different players and I didn’t find what I was looking for when I left England." He is grateful to Milan for allowing the move to happen, "I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Milan, who allowed me to leave. I thought I was important for Milan, but things went differently. Now, there is no better place than Atletico.” So there you have it. Torres is back where it all began and it'll be interesting to see if he can reach the dizzying heights again that propelled him to the forefront of great strikers of the world.
