Crossmaglen Rangers retained their All-Ireland title, while Clarinbridge are a new name on the trophy in the hurling.

Clarinbridge had the performances of Eoin Forde and Mark Kerins to thank, as the duo scored 2-11 between them as the Galway side ran out convincing 2-18 to 0-12 winners over Kilkenny’s O’Loughlin Gaels.

Substitute Seanie Cummins received his marching orders in injury time for a wild swing in frustration, as Clarinbridge pulled away.

It was Clarinbridge’s first ever All-Ireland championship in a year in which they won their first Connacht title and only their second Galway title.

In football, Armagh’s Crossmaglen Rangers justified their favourites tag by beating Roscommon’s St Brigid’s GAA by a goal to capture their fifth All-Ireland Club Championship.

It was a nip and tuck match, with the sides level no less than six times – five in the first half alone.

A Jamie Clarke goal early in the second period proved to be the difference for the 38-time Armagh Champions.
