Here are the cheapest ways to get to NYC to watch Conor McGregor vs Eddie Alvarez

Paul Moore

Fancy heading to see The Notorious in The Big Apple.

After all the hearsay and rumour and, we finally know that Conor McGregor will fight Eddie Alvarez for the UFC lightweight title at UFC 205.

While the majority of fight fans will be familiar with Las Vegas and its casinos – we’ll say nothing! – UFC 205 will be taking place in Madison Square Garden in New York on November 12.

The event will be the UFC’s first ever event in the state and we’re expecting quite an Irish crowd to descend on The Big Apple.

Using the cost aggregation website Skyscanner, here are some of the cheapest, and most convenient routes, that we found.

Note: all of the departures are from Dublin Airport, include a return flight and don’t have a specific NYC Airport in mind. Obviously if you’ve got specific requirements then feel free to search for them.

Here’s what flights cost at the minute.

Departing: Thursday, Nov 10th.

Return: Tuesday 15th,

Route :- Dublin – Amsterdam, Amsterdam – NYC (JFK). Return route: JFK- Charles de Gaulle, Charles De Gaulle – Dublin.

Here are the prices.

If you fancy departing on the same date (Nov 1oth) but want to return a day earlier (Nov 14th), the cost is €4  cheaper but you’ll have to endure an extra stopover in Boston on your return home.

If work really won’t let you have a few days off, here’s what’s available to buy if you decide to fly out on Thursday (Nov 1oth) and return on Sunday (13th November) – presumably with a hangover, bleary eyes and hopefully a McGregor win to celebrate from the night before.

We’re certain that you’ll want to enjoy a few nights in NYC without having to endure the mad-dash panic of finding your accommodation and settling in, but, if you really have no time to spare, here’s how much it would cost to fly in on the 12th and leave immediately on the 13th.

We think it’s fair to say that the flight costs are pretty reasonable. Now, all that’s needed is getting your hands on a ticket? Best of luck getting sorted if you’re heading to NYC to see the fight.
