Well, that was hard to watch.
Ireland were taught a lesson tonight against Wales.
The Boys in Green travelled to Cardiff to start off their Nations League campaign, and it did not end well.
The match ended 4-1 to Wales, as Ryan Giggs’ men picked us apart with absolute ease.
Tom Lawrence opened the scoring with a lovely goal, sliding the ball past Darren Randolph in the Irish goal.
Gareth Bale was at the heart of the performance, scoring the second with an absolute cracker.
Aaron Ramsey scored the third beating Randolph at the near post.
Conor Roberts scored the fourth for Wales following a lovely pass from Gareth Bale, before substitute Shaun Williams scored a lovely goal for Ireland.
Naturally, people weren’t too pleased with the Irish performance…
Can’t believe what the score is in the Ireland game!!! Come on lads where is the fighting Irish spirit….

It’s not the greatest revelation but Ireland’s apparent eagerness to kick the ball into the sky at the earliest opportunity never ceases to demoralise me.

Wales that good or Ireland that bad? ?♂️

Ireland have conceded 9 goals in their last 120 minutes of competitive football. When your calling card is defensive strength and being difficult to beat, that's a damning stat.

Safe to say, this is Ireland’s worst night ever in the Nations League. #WALIRL

Gary Lineker had the wittiest comment of the night, as he tends to do.
Wales 3 up against Ireland. Got to give it to Giggsy…at least to the end of the season.
