Is Jose Mourinho about to take over at Manchester United?

The bookies seem to think so

The bookies seem to think so.

Better the Red Devil you know?

As soon as the final whistle was blown on Saturday at Old Trafford, the stadium erupted in a cacophony of boos. Most of them directed at manager Louis Van Gaal.

United had lost at home to Norwich and were beaten well.

This was the straw that broke the camel’s back for many United fans. Huge amount of money spent on players with no visible sign of progress and if anything, they look as if they’ve gotten worse.

Speculation is rife in Manchester that Van Gaal will be sent packing sooner rather than later after a disastrous run of results which has seen them fall out of the top four and also the Champions League.

Most United fans pine for Pep Guardiola, but it looks as if he’s going to City and his replacement at Bayern is another fans’ choice in Carlo Ancelotti.

Only one man seems big enough or capable enough of stepping into the breach and that man is available having just lost his job at Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho has been installed as 8/13 favourite with Ladbrokes to become the next boss at Manchester United. United fans seem divided about the prospect of the Special One conducting at the Theatre of Dreams.

The naysayers cite his ‘park the bus’ mentality and his unwillingness to give youth its chance. The pro-Mourinho camp will tell you that he will bring colour and charisma to the job and he gets results… this season aside of course.

Who knows what will happen, but it does look like we are approaching a tipping point.
