John Mullane talks about his possible naked horse ride should Waterford win the All-Ireland

It will be ... quite the sight.

It will be … quite the sight.

With the hurling final approaching, the All-Ireland championship final between Waterford and Galway will probably be watched by just about everyone who isn’t at Electric Picnic.

In case you missed it, the promo video for the match was released earlier today and it was properly brilliant.

However, all eyes will be on the outcome for more than just congratulating the winner.

A few months back, Waterford legend John Mullane discussed the possible outcome, back when this final was practically science fiction, when he announced the following:

“I’m going to go for Galway. I think it’s written in the stars. I think they’ll beat Dublin, they’ll be in a Leinster final. I think they’ll win Leinster; it’s going to be Galway’s year. What I will say is, if Waterford win the All-Ireland I’ll jump on a horse in the nude and go down the Quay!”

And now here we are, mere hours away from Waterford doing just that.

So, will Mullane follow through on his self-imposed bet? He talks to RTÉ in the clip below about just that. We’re no long sure who to root for, to be honest…
