Jurgen Klopp prepared to end sabbatical early as Reds link continues

Brendan Rodgers' position is becoming increasingly precarious

Jurgen Klopp is prepared to end his sabbatical from football early to take a job in the Premier League.

Sky Sports report that the German, who left Borussia Dortmund after seven seasons in the summer, is interested in the Liverpool job specifically as it would afford him the chance to bring glory back to a perceived ‘sleeping giant’ of the game.

While fans of the club and much of the media insist that Klopp will be the man to take the reins at Anfield when Rodgers inevitably loses his job, Bleacher Report – who believe Reds owner John W. Henry finally ran out of patience after Wednesday’s night’s narrow Capital One Cup win over Carlisle United – claim that it will not be the German.

Earlier this week, Liverpool denied that an approach had been made to Carlo Ancelotti to replace Rodgers but Bleacher Report claim that the Italian is still in the frame.

Whether it’s Klopp, Ancelotti or someone else, the writing appears to be on the wall for Rodgers’ long stuttering project.
