There was A LOT of anger from fans tonight.
Manchester United and Huddersfield went head-to-head on Saturday in their FA Cup tie, with a lot of changes made to the Man Utd side following their loss to Newcastle the weekend previous.
Mata was one of the starting eleven, and he managed to score and everyone celebrated and it would’ve put them 2-0 ahead.
However, after turning to the Video Assistant Referee (or VAR), after what felt like an eternity, it was declared that Mata was actually offside, and the goal was disallowed.
When they cut to footage of the VAR to show how Mata was offside… well, we’ll let the viewers let you know how they felt about that…
So with a straight line he's onside.
With a 2nd grader VAR line he's offside I'm done lmao 😂 https://t.co/UgiqcZQwxG pic.twitter.com/6wlyqza1Q1

Not sure it’s a good idea to get a 9 year old to draw the straight lines on the VAR

VAR is the route forward and they can't even draw straight lines? What a total shambles. Embarrassing.

I think we can safely say whoever is on the #VAR is on the sauce. pic.twitter.com/7tpvFEAqtL

VAR should be deleted!!!!! Absolute shit concept for football….Waiting two minutes for an onside decision when we all knew it was onside instantly. Disgraceful#MUFC

VAR ruled this offside #FACup pic.twitter.com/hmgKHFwHJ1

Wow, goal ruled off side by VAR. Graham Poll on BT hints that the ‘lines’ weren’t working properly at VAR HQ! No blame for linesman here.. #MUFC #HTAFC pic.twitter.com/mTJL6WTbzH

Thought VAR was supposed to be to correct a clear and obvious mistake? Mata’s patella may have been offside but it was far from an obvious howler.

Yep, the high-tech VAR line graphic has nailed it there.
Mata offside. No doubt. pic.twitter.com/4rNmtGicz8
