She couldn’t watch the fight

Molly-Mae Hague was in tears on Sunday night after learning her boyfriend, Tommy Fury, had beaten Jake Paul on a points decision.

The new mum reportedly refused to watch the hotly anticipated fight and hid in her room while her sister and closest friends screened it from her living room, The Sun reported on Monday.

The new mum was pictured in social media posts, feeding baby Bambi, and looking very emotional as the result came in. Her close friends, Maura Higgins and Stephanie Lam, meanwhile, jumped for joy in the lounge.

‘Everybody thought I was running scared’

Tommy Fury dedicated the win to his girlfriend and newborn daughter, saying: “I want to dedicate this fight to my new baby girl Bambi at home and my Mrs, I love you.”

He also paid tribute to the baby as he walked into the ring in Saudi Arabia – by wearing a robe bearing her name on it.

Tommy, extending his unbeaten record to nine, won in a split decision. One judge scored the bout at the Diriyah Arena, in Diriyah, 75-74 to Jake, with the other two scoring it 76-73 to Tommy. Paul had knocked Tommy down in the eighth round.

“For the past two years this is all that has consumed my life,” an emotional Fury said on BT Sport.

“Everybody thought I was running scared but tonight I made my own legacy.”

Fury added: “This is my first main event, I am going to get bigger and better and if he wants a rematch, bring it on.”

Jake was gracious in defeat, but did call for a rematch, saying: “All respect to Tommy, he won. I think we deserve that rematch. I don’t know if I agree with the judges. I got a 10-8 round twice… I felt flat, I got sick really bad twice in this camp, injured my arm. But I lost, I’m not making excuses.”

Jake, who now has a loss to his unbeaten record, added:  ” Don’t judge me by my wins, judge me by my losses. “I don’t know if I agree with the judges, it is what it is but that is the boxing world.”
