Nicolas Roche’s Twitter struggles continue

Earlier this week Nicolas Roche took to Twitter to criticise a reviewer who thought his recent book was “bland”. Now things may have gotten even worse.

The review, by @fmk_ROI, was posted on the cycling site Podium Cafe, and he expressed the view that Roche’s book, Inside The Peleton, was “bland” and offered little insight into his cycling career.

@fmk_ROI tweeted his review at Roche and he responded fairly sharpish.

Anyway, after a bit of debate between the two…

Roche tried to close the matter but it didn’t sound over.

Then last night, a spoof story on another cycling blog, written by a Frank Mercer, appeared which may further annoy the Irish cycling star.

Under the headline ‘Nicolas Roche withdraws from 2012 Tour de France roster’ the piece asserts that Roche is not allowed to ride this year until he improves his abilities in English. It’s not true of course but Roche was probably still not impressed.

As you can see from the above tweets, the rider does make a few spelling mistakes in his tweets and he took to Twitter last night to defend his rather sloppy spelling after others got on his back about it.

Will this now two-day row continue for another day? We’ll keep you posted.
