His trainers at the Paragon Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy in California made the touching gesture at a memorial service.

As we have learned since his tragic death two weeks ago, Fast and Furious star Paul Walker was more than just an actor. He did mountains of charity work and he was also a keen martial artist, working his way up to a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

One of his long-held ambitions was to become a black belt in the discipline and his trainer, Ricardo ‘Franjinha’ Miller, made sure he got his wish this week.

At a memorial service in California held by Walker’s family, Miller awarded Walker his black belt. In a statement on his blog, Miller explained his motivation.

“He was determined to become a black belt.  He said ‘I will get my black belt, even if I need to get it in my coffin’.  Now in the wake of his death, I would like to reward Paul Walker the black belt that he wanted so much during his life,” Miller said.

It’s a classy move by Miller and one that would have meant a lot to Walker’s family and friends.
