This is unfortunate.
Royal Marine Andy Grant, 26, is a massive Liverpool FC fan and to prove his loyalty to the club, he got a tattoo of the Liver bird along with the iconic fan motto, ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ on his right leg.
However, while on a tour of Afghanistan back in 2009, Mr Grant stepped on a hidden IED that exploded underneath him and resulted in an operation to have some of his leg, and his tattoo, amputated.
After the operation, the tattoo read: ‘You’ll Never Walk’.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Grant said: “It is ironic that it says I will never walk as I have gone on to run 10k in 40 mins.
“At the moment I am just two minutes off a record for the 10k for a single leg amputee and I have that in my sights.
“It is bizarre and I just laugh about it. But it adds to my story I guess.”
