Pic: Roy Keane apparently wrote this brilliant note for a fan’s Dad at a book signing in Manchester today

If Roy Keane did indeed write this note, it’s just fantastic.

If Roy Keane did indeed write this note, it’s just fantastic.

The Ireland assistant manager may have left his post as assistant manager at Aston Villa recently, but he’s still keeping busy promoting his book ‘The Second Half’ and was signing a few copies at a WH Smith store in Manchester today.

One fan who attended the book signing posted a picture on a Manchester United page on Reddit this evening of a note that he asked Keane to write specifically for his Dad and this is what he came up with…

Brilliant and all as it is, we can’t help but be a little cynical all the same.

Would Roy really have agreed to repeat a line that caused him such grief when his original book was released in the first place?

Why does his handwriting appear a little different on the pink note than it does, for example, on a copy of a book he signed for another fan today (see below)?

Was it simply a case that the fan in question asked Roy to write this but was politely (or maybe not so politely) refused?

This comes on the back of news from Cork yesterday that Keane wrote a note for a student fan of his that turned up late for class so he’s obviously been feeling generous in the last few days.

While we want to believe that Keane wrote this one, however, we wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out he didn’t.

Great to have Roy back in the news anyway; that was a tough last few days.
