This strikes us as a perfectly valid excuse to miss a match.
The Trinity GAA account has been dormant for the last number of weeks, but it’s back in action providing a blow by blow account of the intermediate footballers’ clash with UCD this evening and whoever is in charge of operating it is in flying form indeed.
Before the match even started, the account notified its followers that the team were hit by a few late withdrawals and their reason for pulling out of the game (which we suspect may have been completely made up) was priceless…
Huge blow to the team minutes before throw in with the mcpaddens declaring themselves unavailable for selection…(1/2)

…. 'Boys we're flat out snapchatting WANs here we won't be out' was james mcpadden's excuse (2/2)

Their account of the first hefty challenge of the game was equally entertaining…
Colm mac gearailt sets the tone early on with a thunderous challenge, clattering him shoulder on screaming 'remember the hunger strikers!!'

GAA Twitter accounts take note, this is how it’s done.
