RTÉ’s new GAA radio show will be co-presented by a man whose name rhymes with ‘party’

More Marty? Yes please

Eoghan Doherty

Say hello to your new favourite sports show.

Prepare your earholes for some smooth, sexy, sporty sounds as none other than Marty Morrissey is taking to the air with a brand new show called The Marty Squad.

The Marty Squad will take a fresh look at the GAA Championships each Sunday evening from 6-7pm on RTÉ Radio 1.

Presented by Marty along with JOE.ie Supreme Being Editor, Paddy McKenna, the show promises to be an alternative take on all the weekend’s GAA action.

Reporter Brenda Donohue will also be on the road at the big matches each weekend, talking to the fans and sampling the atmosphere of great GAA grounds around the country.

Every Sunday, the squad will be joined by a panel of regular guests – former Roscommon goalkeeper and Connacht championship winner, Shane Curran, former Kilkenny All-Ireland winner, David Herity, and Cork Camogie star, Anna Geary.

Of course, there’ll also be a chance for the real experts –  that’s you and the other supporters heading home after the matches – to have their say too.

So make sure you tune in this Sunday – and every Sunday after – to RTÉ Radio 1 at 6pm.

Go on, do it for Marty…
