St Louis perform not one, but two sensational fake plays to beat Super Bowl champs Seattle

Special teams win the day for the Rams in sensational style.

Special teams win the day for the Rams in sensational style.

After defeat last week to Dallas everybody, us included, thought that Seattle would bounce back with a vengence against the St Louis Rams this weekend. The Rams were the worst team in the NFL for pass rush so we assumed that Seattle would pick them off in style.

It looks like the Rams worked this out too, and decided to employ some very special tricks to give them a shot at the win. And, lo and behold, they tried two, they came off, and they won the game 28-26, one of the shocks of the season so far.

Here’s the first trick, where they fool the entire Seattle team on a punt return. Watch the ball lads, not the man.

The second, a fake punt, isn’t quite so dramatic but it kept a drive alive in the closing stages of the fourth quarter and helped them see out the game.

We suspect Seahwaks coach Pete Carroll (main pic) will be giving his troops a tough time in the video analysis sessions this week.
