The JOE v Ladbrokes Football Accumulator Challenge: Week 17

Blanks all round means that Hayley O'Connor of Ladbrokes remains well ahead in the JOE v Ladbrokes accumulator challenge, but we're sure things will pick up this week.

JOE

It was a case of close but no cigar for both Hayley O’Connor of Ladbrokes and JOE in the JOE v Ladbrokes accumulator challenge last week. How will we cope with the short slate this weekend?

Both sides went for massive 11/1 shots last week and both came close to pulling it off. Hayley’s faith in both Manchester clubs paid off but her punt on Everton to upset Chelsea just fell short.

For ourselves, we managed to pick out wins for West Ham and Liverpool but our prediction of a draw between Cardiff and Hull was a spectacular and messy failure.

This weekend doesn’t look easy either, with only eight games to choose from due to the Capital One Cup final but we give it our best shot.

Here’s Hayley’s picks for Week 17:

West Ham to beat Everton, 6/1

After letting me down last week, I’m going against the Toffees and backing the in-form Hammers.

Chelsea to beat Fulham, 9/20

Chelsea haven’t lost to Fulham in their last 16 meetings, going all the way back to 2006. Sure there were a few draws along the way, but I fancy Jose’s side to nick a narrow win here and keep the run going.

Liverpool to beat Southampton, Evs

The game of the weekend and with Liverpool in such exciting form, I fancy them grab all three points at St Mary’s.

All in all that accumulator works out a little over 20/1 and would rocket Hayley out of sight in the win-o-meter if it comes good.

And here’s JOE’s picks:

Hull to beat Newcastle, 29/20

Powered by the mighty duo of Jelavic and Long we reckon Steve Bruce’s team will win the day at home

Arsenal to beat Stoke, 7/10

This could be a spicy meatball, after all the Aaron Ramsey stuff this week, but we think the visitors to the Britannia Stadium will come away with the win.

Tottenham to beat Cardiff, 1/3

Spurs are a crazy team, with their form all over the place, but we think they should be able to do the job against struggling Cardiff.

That treble is worth over 11/2 too, so we can really catch up this week, if all goes to plan of course.
