The three players you need in your Fantasy Football team this week

A fantastic performance by Pairic Sheehan’s Klippity Kloppity has seen another shake-up at the top of the J-League, with Pairic’s 99-point haul shooting him into the lead from third place. The reign of Allan Johnson’s Comeback Kids at the top proved short-lived and Allan has to be content with third this week as long-time leaders Bacuna Mata-ta, managed by Ciaran Tracey, mounted a comeback with 82 points, which leaves them just four points off the lead. It’s going to take a big effort for anyone outside of the top three to mount a challenge in the coming weeks, but Crabby Joe’s Spleef Queens and Tremendous Tom Mulholland’s The Turbo Terrific are still in touch in fourth and fifth place respectively.

Gameweek 30

The FA Cup has played havoc with the Premier League calendar this weekend, meaning there are only five games down for decision in Gameweek 30. The good news for Fantasy Football managers is that title challengers Leicester, Spurs and Manchester City are all in action and all against teams who they really should be beating. Outside of that, an in-form Bournemouth side face Swansea, who have won their last two games, and Stoke and Southampton battle it out with an eye on maintaining their top-half status.

This week’s picks

Safe bet: Riyad Mahrez (£7.3 million). We keep waiting for Mahrez to suffer a dip in form but there’s no sign of it happening. A goal and an assist has yielded 17 points from his last two games and he’s averaged seven points from his last five outings. If you don’t have him in your team, then you have explaining to do. Dark horse: Matt Ritchie (£5.3 million). The talented midfielder is flourishing during Bournemouth’s recent run of good form, with a goal, three assists and 25 points in their last four outings. Captain’s choice: Sergio Aguero (£13.6 million). There might be only five games this week but managers are spoiled for choice when it comes to the captaincy. Take your pick from Vardy, Mahrez, Kane and Aguero but after a double against Villa last week, we’re going to give the armband to the Argentine ahead of Man City’s trip to Norwich.

Potential to use chips

No point using your bench boost option because you’ll have to play all your subs anyway and we’d keep our powder dry on the all-out attack and triple captain options for the double gameweek that must surely be around the corner. Let's see what Kanye thinks... You heard the man.
