Yet another brilliant week in what is turning out to be one of the best Champions League seasons we can ever remember. Here’s the pick of the goals from the first leg of the semis.
Robert Lewandowski v Real Madrid
The Pole was easily the man of the week with his four goals against Real Madrid. The best was the third though, as he claimed his hat-trick in fine style. The drag back, the power, the awareness. All class.
Arjen Robben v Barcelona
Okay, Thomas Muller had a lot to do, illegally, with this one but the finish by the Dutchman was quality.
Cristiano Ronaldo v Dortmund
Okay, it wasn’t a great night for Ronnie and Jose but this goal was pretty nice. Mats Hummels can claim some of the assist but the credit must really go to Gonzalo Higuain for the neat pass.
Thomas Muller v Barcelona
The fourth and surely killer goal was a great move down the left expertly tucked home by the superb Muller.
Lewandowski’s fourth v Real Madrid
As good a spot kick as you’ll ever see. The four-finger celebration is pretty sweet too.
