We are now less than two weeks away from UFC 229, and the entire world of MMA is crossing their fingers that both Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor remain injury-free until then.
Last week, we saw another ‘colourful’ press conference, in which McGregor taught us all a Russian history lesson, and also said the words “the smell of shite off your da” in front of an audience of millions of people.
For the most part, Khabib remained quiet throughout. He let the Dublin man have his moment, confident that he will have his in the octagon on 6 October.
And in case you’ve ever wondered where McGregor gets his way with words from, you would have to put a lot of it down to his father.
Tony McGregor went viral earlier this year with his rant about unwanted “coinage”, where he moaned about paying for a DART ticket with a “crisp €20 note” and complained that he had no room in his “slim-fit, hand-fitted Hugo Boss suit” to fit all the coinage in.
Needless to say, he was none too plussed about the entire situation.
And if you think that sounds bizarre, then you are in for a treat today.
The Notorious Senior will appear on Ariel Helwani’s podcast on Monday ahead of his son’s fight with Khabib at UFC 229.
We have no idea what he will talk about, but we can almost guarantee that it will be absolutely hilarious.
