We’re 1,000,000% confident that all of this is true…

Now that Didier Drogba has been ruled out for the next few months it seems that Jose Mourinho is sweating about the prospects of actually having to use Fernando Torres. The Guardian are reporting that Edinson Cavani is a grumpy Gus at PSG after being asked to play wide-left rather than as a central striker and the Uruguayan could be heading to Stamford Bridge in exchange for some money and André Schürrle.

Chelsea Press Conference

The Star can apparently read Mourinho’s mind also because they think Chelsea are set to sign Roma central defender Mehdi Benatia in a £30m deal. Just ignore the fact that they already have Terry, Cahill, Zouma and Ivanovic to play in that position already guys.

Liverpool’s search for a new striker started with Falcao, then it switched to Cavani and now it seems to have landed on Jose Mourinho’s favourite pensioner striker. The Daily Mirror and the Star are both reporting that Liverpool are interested in the possibility of bringing former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o to Anfield on a free transfer.

Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League

The 33-year-old Cameroon international hit nine goals in 21 Premier League appearances for the Blues last season and he might be worth a cheeky gamble. With him and Lambert up front, Liverpool will have more pace than Alexis, Walcott and the Ox combined.

Brendan Rodgers could do a lot worse than take a look at Wilfried Bony, however, The Times think that some clubs are being put off by his £100,000-a-week wage demands. We still think he is worth snapping up.

The Liverpool Echo feel that Sevilla are delaying the Reds in their attempt to complete a deal for full-back Alberto Moreno while two centre-backs of varying quality seem set for the Anfield exit door.

The Star reckon that Danish centre-back Daniel Agger is a £10m transfer target for Arsenal while Kolo Toure is on the verge of leaving after just one season in order to sign for Turkish club Trabzonspor. Any excuse for this image.

Two of Barcelona’s most well known rags, Sport and El Mundo Deportivo, are reporting that Man Utd have in fact lodged a €40m bid for Fiorentina’s Juan Cuadrado but the Serie A side are waiting until they receive a formal offer from Barcelona before they return to Manchester United with an answer. One player that will be leaving Old Trafford is Chilean striker Angelo Henriquez, who has joined Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb on a season-long loan. If you are able to actually pick this man out from a team photo then JOE will buy you a coke.

The Mail are reporting that Spurs are having a ‘dead-wood’ sale with the following all up for sale;  Soldado, Chadli, Sandro, Paulinho, Naughton …*breathe*… Kaboul, Dawson, Townsend and Walker. So how many players would they actually have left then? Finally, Sunderland want £8m for striker Connor Wickham after rejecting a £5m offer from West Ham according to the Telegraph.

So that’s the price of an average striker who has one purple patch in two years…
