Troy Parrott gets his Betis career off to a flying start

Troy Parrott has already given Real Betis fans something to be excited about, despite only making his first appearance for the club on Tuesday night.

The Ireland international was sent on for the final 25 minutes of Tuesday night’s meeting with Valencia, with Betis needing a goal to settle a tight game. Parrott managed to make his presence felt almost immediately, playing a part in the move that led to the winner.

The 24-year-old had only recently arrived in Andalusia after joining in a deal that could reach €20 million, Extra.ie reported, yet he was already involved in first-team action within days of signing.

There were enough positive moments in his short cameo to leave supporters encouraged, and Balls.ie reported that Betis fans have already taken a liking to their new striker. After making a name for himself with his goals in the Netherlands, Parrott now has the chance to prove he can produce the same kind of form in La Liga.

A Champions League draw to come

It has been quite the turnaround for the Dublin striker, who has gone from being on the bench in Eindhoven not long ago to making his first steps with Betis and preparing for a Champions League campaign.
