A mostly positive reaction.
Shane Byrne, Shane Jennings and Fiona Steed were the panelists on TV3’s coverage of the World Cup quarter final between South Africa and Wales today.
The former Ireland women’s rugby captain’s appearance evoked a big reaction on social media with the majority being hugely positive but a few people weren’t happy with it.

Someday I won't be surprised when I see a female commentator on a sport prog. Fiona Steed knows the game inside out

Kudos to @TV3Rugby2015 having Fiona Steed on the panel for #WALvSA.
It will be seen as a ballsy decision, but it shouldn't be.

Great stuff from TV3 to have Fiona Steed on the panel. And better again, not treating her as a curiosity.

Fiona Steed insights into the game are much better than Matt Williams. Bravo #TV3Rugby

Typing the words 'TV3 woman' into Twitter search bar makes for grim viewing. Sad, idiotic comments… #RWC2015 #tv3 pic.twitter.com/Dv4SiDR8EZ
