We still have the post World Cup blues here in JOE and last night was spent flicking through every TV channel looking for some more glorious football from Brazil, it’s over though, it’s over. *Bursts into tears*
Germany are the champions and deservedly so but the individual awards have caused a lot of debate. The adidas Golden Ball Award for best player of the tournament was won by adidas poster-boy Lionel Messi… Colombia’s star James Rodriguez was top scorer, Germany ‘keeper Manuel Neuer won the best goalkeeper award and French powerhouse Paul Pogba won best young player.
They’re the traditional awards but some people have been coming up with more alternative awards like this one, ‘The Golden Dive Award’. There were some ridiculous diving during the tournament and this counts down the top five offenders…
