The pick of the goals from today's European football so far, courtesy of Parma's Alessandro Lucarelli.

While most of us cope with the drudge of that miserable first day back at work after Christmas, most of Europe get to enjoy one more day off, with loads of football to enjoy too. Italy and Spain have a pretty full slate of games and in Parma's game with Torino, we have our first magic goal of 2014. A fairly unpromising looking corner is swung in to the Torino box but veteran Parma defender Alessandro Lucarelli manages to turn it into a Zlatan-esque goal with a deft backheel flick. Considering he has scored just eight goals in his four-and-a-half years at Parma, we are inclined to think this is a bit of a fluke but hey, it is the New year so let's give Alessandro the benefit of the doubt here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrVMtjrqXKY Parma went on to win 3-1 too.
