Video: Australian baseball player crashes through fence catching ball

That'll leave a mark...

That’ll leave a mark…

Australian baseball has a fair shot at being the most obscure sport we’ve done a story on. But they have had a professional league in Oz since 2009 and while it still trails behind the big guns like AFL, Rugby League and cricket it has a small but committed fan base.

But the reason we are telling you all this is that we have a rather good clip from a game last week between the Melbourne Aces and the Adelaide Bite. A fly ball was heading towards the fence but Melbourne’s Tyler Massey was determined to make the catch and get the out.

Tyler managed that, but he crashed through the fence in the process, suggesting that either the fence was pretty rubbish, or that Tyler is as hard as a Kalgoorlie miner. At 6’0″ tall and weighing in at 205 pounds, we’re putting our money on Tyler, who seemed none the worse for his unexpected act of stadium redesign.
