The great man’s Rugby Tonight slot is already approaching must-watch status for rugby fans.

O’Driscoll is still in the early stages of his punditry career but he has already taken to it like a duck to water. His slot on BT Sport’s Rugby Tonight provides him with time to go into more in-depth analysis, similar to what Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher do on Monday Night Football, and it’s very interesting to watch.

Last night, the topics up for discussion were the setting up and defending of a drop goal – particularly relevant if you were watching Munster’s victory over Sale at the weekend – and the wrap around move, one which O’Driscoll helped execute with Johnny Sexton for Leinster and Ireland on a regular basis over the years.

O’Driscoll had some help from Rhys Priestland explaining the wrap around and Austin Healey, Martin Bayfield also pitched in when it came to the drop goal discussion, but it’s great to see O’Driscoll adapting so well to his new role and we’re looking forward to seeing more of this throughout the season.
