Gareth Bale turns 25 today and we thought it would be a good time to have a look at some of his best moments as a footballer.

Gareth Frank Bale has reached the magical quarter-century mark and he’s become something of a global superstar since his move to Real Madrid. Let’s be honest, he’s been pretty impressive since the Spanish club shelled out a world record fee to sign him from Spurs.

In his last season with Spurs, they were involved in a very tense London derby with West Ham and the score was locked at 2-2 with Spurs needing the win. Up stepped Bale to score an absolute screamer to win the match for his side.

This proved to be his last goal for Spurs and what a way to bow out. Spurs were Sunderland at 0-0 and Bale received the ball in a fairly innocuous looking area of the pitch. Bale did what Bale does best and hit a beautifully struck bending pile-driver of a shot into the top corner to secure the win for his side. Simply magnificent.

Some players can suffer under the pressure of a massive fee, but not Bale it appears. Following his world record move to Real Madrid, he seemed to revel as the most expensive player. He endeared himself to the Madrid faithful with some breathtaking performances and goals and this effort against Barcelona to win the Copa Del Rey elevated him to cult status with the fans. Displaying the speed of an Olympic sprinter, this is nothing short of phenomenal.

He does it for his country too you know.

Playing for Wales in a match back in March against Iceland, he received the ball in his own half, turned on the after burners and when he got into the box, unleashed yet another arrow-like strike into the corner of the net. If a goal encapsulates Gareth Bale, surely this was the one.

Here he is for Wales again and this time against Scotland with the score locked at 1-1 and only three minutes left on the clock. This was just a goal of ridiculous quality.
