Video: Club footballer in Derry points eight 45s and one 55 in less than 100 seconds

And he was about a yard out with another attempt. That’s some serious shooting right there.

And he was about a yard out with another attempt. That’s some serious shooting right there.

You might remember a video we featured on the site earlier this year in which Carlow inter-county footballer Paul Broderick nailed five 45 metre kicks in 45 seconds, a remarkable feat that one would have thought was impossible to beat.

Well, Paul Keane from Ballerin GAA Club in Derry saw Broderick’s five 45s in 45 seconds and raised him nine 45s and a 55 in a little over 90 seconds in a tremendous exhibition of free-taking which was sent into us today.

Unfortunately for Paul, one of his efforts flew narrowly wide of the post but still, to be able to strike the ball so well and so consistently, with barely a minute to breathe in between every kick, is seriously impressive and we have no problem sending large amounts of kudos Paul’s way.

If you’re a dab hand at the old ball-striking and think you could equal or match the efforts of Paul and Paul then we’d love to see it if you’d like to share it with us on Facebook or Twitter; that shout out includes the likes of Bryan Sheehan, Niall Morgan and Stephen Cluxton by the way so lads, if you’re reading, you know where to find us.

Hat-tip to Simon McGinley for sending this one our way
