VIDEO: Conor McGregor should walk out to this anthem against Nate Diaz

Tony Cuddihy

If this doesn’t get the blood pumping for UFC 202, nothing will.

Conor McGregor takes on Nate Diaz in Las Vegas in the early hours of 21 August (Irish time) and we’ve found the perfect song to soundtrack what will hopefully be the Crumlin man’s revenge.

Oh, and it was recorded in prison.

The song is called Can You Hear Me? by The Off#enders (pronounced Offenders – the hashtag is silent), a group formed while singer and guitarist Gary Cunningham was incarcerated.

You can read Gary’s story here.

The song is excellent, but the video – which charts McGregor’s career to date in the style of Johnny Cash’s ‘Hurt’ – is incredible. Check it out.

“The song is another Off#enders original, but this one is a little different,” Gary tells us.

“We had NEVER recorded before and we were learning as we went. We had only two mics to mic up the… wait for it… ‘Dora The Explorer’ kids’ drumkit that was kindly donated to us (in the prison).

“The drummer was released pretty early into the recording of the album… which sucked… so I had to learn how to use the drum-loops in Garageband in order to complete our goal of recording an album.

“I love the ‘get knocked down/bounce back up again’ vibe to this track, which I wrote and murdered the singing on!”
