Injury or no injury, Conor McGregor’s enthusiasm is infectious and he was in typically terrific form on the Late Late show last night.

The Dubliner is currently rehabilitating a serious knee injury suffered in what was only his second UFC fight against Max Holloway in Boston back in August but rather than disappear into his own shell, McGregor hasn’t let the injury affect him and has spoken very confidently about coming back better and stronger from the setback sometime next year.

McGregor stole the show on his last appearance on the Late Late and it was the same again last night as he started off with a killer line, “I’m the male version of Sinead O’Connor, I’m on every week” and went onto talk about his remarkable journey from starting off in MMA to becoming one of the hottest properties in the UFC.

Sharply dressed as usual – and very keen to plug Louis Copeland as often as possible – McGregor also mentioned his meetings with Arnold Schwarzenegger and P Diddy (“he’s a little up his own ass”), the importance of his Irish identity and the MMA scene in these parts and the progress he’s been making in his rehabilitation so far.

McGregor was in such good form that an accidental mention of the f-word barely registered, but what certainly did register was his revelation that a fight night featuring McGregor himself might be coming to the O2 in May.

You can see Conor’s interview in full in the video above and a special extra behind the scenes feature from last night’s show below.

Great stuff as usual Conor.
